SG Leave Pro-rating Kit

Gives the year of service, the statutory minimum and the completed months in the current year of service, then pro-rates and rounds exactly as MOM does. Approved unpaid leave is excluded, the notice period is counted, and a contract that gives less than the statutory minimum is flagged. For leavers it states MOM's rule on unused leave and values it at the gross rate of pay.

Problem it solves

Pro-rated annual leave is often worked out on the wrong year, the wrong month count or the wrong rounding, so leavers are paid or charged the wrong number of days.

Inputs it needs

Start date, last day or notice date, contract entitlement, unpaid leave and leave taken in the current year of service

What you get

Pro-rated statutory and contract leave with the working shown. Last day of employment from the notice period. Leave balance and value of unused leave for leavers.

Will not do without you

It will not approve leave, decide encashment or salary deductions, or interpret the contract; the employer confirms every figure.

Case study: the problem it fixes

Illustrative scenario, not a client story

Illustrative: an HR executive pro-rates a leaver's leave by calendar months, ignores two weeks of unpaid leave and rounds 2.4 days up. The final pay overstates leave and the error only surfaces at payroll review.

Why it costs money, not free

Leave pro-rating is checked every time someone joins or leaves, and the MOM method has several traps: year of service, completed months, rounding, unpaid leave and notice. One consistent method with the working shown stops the disputes. Every kit is written and tested by a Chartered Accountant (Singapore), kept to current Singapore rules, and comes with the artifact, templates and setup sheet, not just a prompt.

How it works

  1. Enter the start date and the last day, or the notice date and length
  2. Enter the contract entitlement, unpaid leave and leave taken
  3. Check the year of service, completed months and rounded days against the statutory minimum
  4. Review the leaver outcome and value of unused leave
  5. Confirm the figures before the letter or payroll entry
